- Hi. I was told the other day that I've used too much sick time in a rolling 12 month period and that my 2% merit increase is in jeopardy. If you're not supposed to use sick time, then why is it given to you? If your absence hasn't affected your work or the work of others what should it matter? Needless to say I was annoyed and insulted and mad that we evil sick time users were confronted. So...I began to draw about the insanity of it all and through the drawing I have come to learn a thing or two about myself, as an employee, as an artist, as a person, as a lover, as a friend and as a human. And although being annoyed and mouthy after getting called out for earned sick time usage is where I started, it is certainly not where I am nor where I'm headed. In the words of Macy Grey, "There is beauty in the world so shake your booty boys and girls." I hope you enjoy your visit and remember that when the man tries to get you down, I'll be here cheering for you...and shakin' my booty...and lookin' for the beauty.

OMG - at my old gubment job, we had this nastyass toaster oven that no one ever cleaned and hardly ever used. Except this one idiot, who used it to heat up FISH, every GD week, which he washed down with a LITER of off-brand Coke. It makes me mad just thinking about it.
Also, there is SO a list of rules like this in our breakroom re: the microwave and frig. It also talks about "respect" and some other bullshit.
Off to burn some popcorn,
